Your doctor (or nurse) will use a programmer to turn on your neurostimulator and set the parameters of the stimulation. The programmability of the Activa DBS System allows for your healthcare professional to set the stimulation to best control your symptoms. This could take several hours. You may have to return to the clinic a few times to have the stimulation adjusted in order to achieve the best symptom control for you, especially during the first few months after implant.
